SEO Methods

Our proven methods of seo (search engine optimization):

1.) Search engine submissions

We hand submit your site to all of the major search engines such as Google, Yahoo!, MSN, AOL and ASK.com.  We also submit your xml sitemap to google for indexing.  We never engage in any type of automatic robot software.  There are a lot of so-called "submission services" out there claiming to submit your site to 1000's of search engines.  There are only 5 major search engines that most people use, and the smaller search engines, even AOL, get their results from Google.  Engaging in any kind of "blackhat" practice is taking a risk of getting banned from all search engines.

2.) On-page optimization

There are two parts of seo... on and off-page optimization.  On-page is the actual make-up of your web site.  Both on, and off page optimization play an important roll in your over-all page rank on search results for any given keyword.  Whenever we build a site, the first thing we do is gather a list of keywords and phrases that someone might use to find our clients products and/or services.  The targeted keywords will have the perfect keyword density to get the attention of the search engine without being flagged for keyword stuffing.  The trick is to make all content, alt image tags, title tags, meta tags, and discription tags utilize the keywords for that page and appeal to the search engine, but also read comfortably to the user.

3.) Off-page optimization

Off-page optimization has an endless plethora of options ranging from, simple comment posting on relevant blogs, to electronic billboards on Time Square and the famous Las Vegas Blvd.  Our Platinum seo package includes your web site being advertised on Time Square as well as The Vegas Strip!

Blogs and forums:  We use blogging to generate a "buzz" about new web sites.  However, we don't just go out posting blaten advertisments.  Here at Tupelo Web Design/seo, we maintain our reputation of professionalism everywhere we are seen and heard.  We use your site to answer a question on recent, topic related threads.  We also post threads, with anchor text links, leading to your site.  Search engines do not trust new web sites what-so-ever.  Human activity, pertaining to your site, builds the trust level between your web site and search engines.  We always make efforts, when placing threads and comments, to look for those that are human moderated.

Classified advertisements:  Placing classified advertisments can bring visitors to your site and give you a very in-exspensive way to show off your products and/or services.  Besides using classified ads to showcase your products and/or services, it is a great opprotunity to raise your backlink count.  Quality backlinks play the biggest roll in the algorithm, used by search engines, to calculate your page rank.  Utilizing your keywords, as text links on other sites, is benificial to your over-all page rank.

Directory submissions:  Human moderated directories are very high quality backlinks.  We hand submit your site to the major directories such as the Open Directory Project (DMOZ), Yahoo! Directory, and Yellowpages.  Once again, beware of services offering to submit your site to 1000's of directories.  Search engines do not like automated submissions.  Their number-one priority is to provide the user with search results inwhich they are looking for.  They do not take chances with sites that might be utilizing blackhat practices such as link farms or automated visitors.

Social Networking:  Social networks, such as MySpace and Facebook provide excellent opprotunities for building quality backlinks with a human moderated and respected web site. In addition to building backlinks, social networks give you a chance to get human activity from those who may know you.  One of the key eliments to YouTube optimization is the amount of people you have rating and favoriting your videos.  Your friends are already at their computer when they see your profile on a particular social networking site requesting them to rate and favorite your videos.  A handfull of favorites can do wonders for a YouTube campaign.

Shopping:  Web sites, such as E-bay, Google shopping, and Shopzilla are great for getting exposure for a particular product.  But, more importantly, shopping sites have great page rank, making anchor text links on such sites very respected by search engines.

Article submissions:  Journalist and webmasters are always looking for new articles to publish in ezines and blogs.  By submitting articles, they are able to write articles about your company in their publications.  The articles contain the precious anchor text links leading back to your site.  Yes, this will generate traffic from those who read the articles, but more importantly, it triggers many quality backlinks being built for you even as you sleep.

Press releases:  Press releases are similar to article submissions, but on a whole new level.  This is where, if you have a newsworthy unique story to tell, you stand a big chance of being contacted by major media affiliates requesting permission to go national with your story in front of 80 million people. A lot of the national television networks look to the newswires for show topics; as do major newspapers like U.S.A. Today.  So you don't have breaking news.  Search engines give big points to press releases from respected sources.  If your release is not newsworthy, they will not accept your release no matter how much you pay them.  We use three levels of (respected) press releases services. PRlog, PRweb, and the granddaddy of them all, PRnewswire.  PRnewswire is where your U.S.A. Today, major television affiliates, Yahoo! News, etc. look for news subjects.

4.)Other traffic generation practices

AdWords:  Eventhough the idea of search engine optimization is to be listed on top of the organic results, a properly constructed AdWords campaign (ppc - pay-per-click) is a great tool for awarness generation.  And, besides, what would be better than being listed on top of the first page than to be all over the first page?  Our AdWords campaign management targets similar keywords to generate awarness of your product and/or service.  Your AdWords ads will appear in search results, as well as on other web sites in the form of Ads by Google. (AdSense)  With all of the optimization in place, the cost per click is minimum.  It is not unheard of to see one site paying .07 cents per click, and be listed on top of the sponsor listings, ahead of other sites paying .60 cents or even $2.00 per click.

AdSense:  AdSense is just the oppisite of AdWords.  Instead of paying for advertisement, you get paid to have other related (non-competitors) advertise on your site.  If you have a site with significant traffic, you can add a decent amount of revenue to your company by placing AdSense ads on your site. (Ads by Google)  The trick is to offer related topics to the information on a particular page, without drawing the user's attention away from your content.  If the user doesn't find what he is looking for, he may see something interesting to him on one of your AdSense Ads.

YouTube optimization:  Having videos on YouTube, as well as other video sharing sites, can really bring a lot of traffic to your site.  We will optimize your video to be ranked high for video results on YouTube, with a link in the discription to your web site, leading them to more information about your products and/or services.  The link in YouTube discriptions are, what they call no-follow, which means it doesn't count as a backlink to the search engines.  However, the amount of potential traffic from a YouTube video can be enormous.
